The Qingming Festival, also known as Tomb-Sweeping Day, is a traditional Chinese festival observed by ethnic Chinese in various countries. It celebrates spring and falls on the 15th day after the Spring Equinox, typically on April 4th, 5th, or 6th. During Qingming, families visit ancestors' tombs to clean them and make offerings. The festival's origins date back more than 2500 years, and it became a public holiday in mainland China in 2008. Traditional activities include eating qingtuan, green dumplings made of glutinous rice and Chinese mugwort or barley grass.
